NESN, WBZ-TV Team Up for Unique Partnership to Enhance Bruins, Red Sox CoverageTwo of the biggest names in the Boston media are teaming up to bring sports fans in the Hub what they want — even more sports coverage.

NESN and WBZ-TV announced Thursday that they are teaming up for a unique content partnership that will launch Friday during coverage of the Red Sox home opener at Fenway Park. The partnership between a regional sports network and a broadcast station in the same market is thought to be the first of its kind.

As part of the agreement, WBZ will start airing live NESN shots during broadcasts, and members of the NESN broadcast team will be prominently featured in those spots. Also, WBZ sports anchor Dan Roche will be a regular guest on NESN's Red Sox pregame coverage.

The WBZ team of AccuWeather meteorologists will also serve as the "Official Forecast of NESN's Red Sox Coverage."
