New England Revolution Caught in Texas Tornado, Takes Shelter in Hotel Basement

New England Revolution Caught in Texas Tornado, Takes Shelter in Hotel BasementThe New England Revolution were caught in the path of one of the Texas tornadoes that wreaked havoc on the Lone Star State on Tuesday. The Revs were at their Dallas-area hotel when a storm warning sent them scurrying to the basement, according to WCVB-TV.

"At least two tornadoes touched down in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that were so powerful that they tossed tractor trailers around like toys," the report says.

The twisters damaged hundreds of homes and left thousands without electricty. Residents of four Texas counties were told to take cover in area shelters.

New England is in the area ahead of Thursday's game against FC Dallas. The team flew directly to Texas following Saturday 3-1 victory over the L.A. Galaxy and has been resting and practicing all week. The Revs are looking to notch their third straight victory after starting the season with two consecutive losses.

The team won't let a couple of tornadoes throw off its game, but it makes for an interesting tale. Read first-hand accounts of the New England Revolution's harrowing encounter with a tornado in the story below.
