Tom Cochrane's song "Life Is A Highway" could definitely be used to describe new NESN Red Sox anaylst Matt Stairs' MLB career.
During his 19 seasons in the big leagues, Stairs played for 13 different teams (12 officially) in the U.S. and Canada and wore nine different numbers. Stairs has also played in every MLB division. His 12 teams ties him for an MLB record.
Stairs was known for his power during his career, hitting more than 250 home runs with six 20-plus home run seasons. He won his only World Series ring with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008.
So as the NESN team welcomes Stairs to his new home back in Boston (one he will hopefully stay in for a long time), take a photographic look at the journey that was his MLB career.
