Nike Designer Calls Out Derrick Rose's Shoe Choice After Season-Ending ACL InjuryIf shoe designers are this confident about their products, perhaps they should start adding injury guarantees to every sale.

Nike's Jason Petrie took brand bragging to a new level Saturday after adidas-signed Derrick Rose's season ended with an ACL tear, tweeting that Rose was "breaking down before our very eyes."

"You chose poorly Pooh," he said, using the nickname given to Rose by his mother.

Rose tore his ACL during the closing minutes of the Bulls' 103-91 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA playoffs Saturday. The injury, which likely doomed Chicago's title chances and endangers Rose's career, elicited widespread condolences from players and fans for the 2011 NBA MVP.

Petrie, apparently, did not share their sentiment. He instead focused on Rose's long-term deal with adidas, which is worth north of $185 million.

Petrie was backpedaling furiously by Sunday morning, apologizing in one tweet and saying "I hope DRose comes back stronger than ever" in another.

The only question now is how much time passed between Petrie hoping his #shouldasignedwithNIKE hashtag would start trending and when he realized he had gone over the line against one of the league’s most popular players.
