Raffi Torres, Arron Asham Among Many Culprits of Gross Misconduct in Round 1 of Stanley Cup Playoffs (Gallery)The first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs saw its fair share of intrigue and heart-stopping finishes. With Game 7s and overtimes spread out over the eight series', it might have been the most exciting round of hockey in years.

Unfortunately, the first round was also marred by a high amount of dirty hits. Nearly every series had moments where a cheap shot was taken, or a hit was delivered brutal enough to knock a player out of a series.

The biggest newsmaker came when the Phoenix Coyotes' Raffi Torres leveled the Blackhawks' Marian Hossa during Game 3 of their series. Hossa needed to be taken off the ice on a stretcher, and Torres was eventually suspended for 25 games.

Whether it was Shea Weber, James Neal or Alexander Ovechkin, the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs saw a high amount of dirty hits, and the NHL is hoping that it doesn't carry over into Round 2.
