Final, Red Sox 10-3: Daniel Bard was impressive in this outing, going as deep as he's been and in an efficient manner.
In the process, Darnell McDonald took a step forward after a slow start, belting a homer and four RBIs to key another offensive explosion.
It's the sixth time this season the Red Sox have eclipsed the double-digit run mark.
Mid 9th, Red Sox 10-3: Well, so much for that earlier post on Darnell McDonald's struggles. He just connected on a solo shot.
He had a strong spring, so it was a little surprising to see him come out so slow out of the game. But he's getting it going now and it could bode well for the Red Sox.
End 8th, Red Sox 9-3: Matt Albers takes out Adam Dunn, Paul Konerko and A.J. Pierzynski with ease.
That's an improved performance for a reliever that has endured a few ups and downs in recent weeks.
Mid 8th, Red Sox 9-3: Nick Punto came in to give David Ortiz a breather, but flew out to left field to end any threats.
The infielder hasn't had many opportunities this season, but when called upon, he's a veteran that can contribute defensively.
End 7th, Red Sox 9-3: Daniel Bard cruises through another inning and really looks like he's taking another step as a starter.
He's done a good job of ignoring the outside noise of everyone calling for him to return to the bullpen and has showed why the Sox are committed to this experiment.
Mid 7th, Red Sox 9-3: After two bat throws — he lost grip of the bat and it flew down the third base line –Kelly Shoppach redeemed himself with an RBI single.
Cody Ross followed up with his second RBI of the game. The offense jumped all over reliever Nate Jones in that sequence over there.
End 6th, Red Sox 7-3: That was a five-pitch inning for Daniel Bard, who has displayed some progression in terms of his efficiency. That's 84 pitches for him.
And Dustin Pedroia made a spectacular diving grab and throw to first base. The ball looked like a single right down the middle and he tracked that down pretty quickly.
Mid 6th, Red Sox 7-3: Just when it looked like Darnell McDonald was plummeting lower, he bashes a bases-clearing double to add three RBIs.
Cody Ross and Marlon Byrd chipped in RBI singles as the Red Sox surged to take the lead. Looks like that sore left knee is quite already for Ross, who has five round-trippers this season.
End 5th, White Sox 3-2: Paul Konerko unloaded his 401th homer of his career off of Bard.
For the entirety of his career, Konerko has gone under the radar, but he's really been one of the most consistent players in baseball.
With the bevy of All-Star first basemen in the AL — and the ones highlighted by PED use in the past decade — he's truly slipped under the cracks.
Mid 5th, 2-2: Darnell McDonald continues to struggle at the plate, lowering his average to .094 with a fly out to center.
It could be partly attributed to the fact he hasn't gotten consistent playing time. When you aren't up a lot, it's hard to develop a rhythm and get that timing on point.
End 4th, 2-2: Daniel Bard tossed a 10-pitch inning right there and showed some confidence in his changeup.
Half of his pitches in that inning were changeups, so that shows some progress as he continues to develop his pitching arsenal.
He's racked up four strikeouts so far, too.
Mid 4th, 2-2: The Red Sox offense didn't dent John Danks there. But the team has been rolling, having scored 10 or more runs a major league-leading five times this season.
Boston has tallied at least six runs on nine occasions, which ranks second in the majors behind only the Yankees (10), going 7-2 in those contests.
End 3rd, 2-2: Errors plagued the Red Sox in that frame, with Kevin Youkilis misfiring on a toss to third.
Daniel Bard allowed Alex Rios to get on base after he misfielded a grounder right to him. Due to the miscue, the White Sox were able to add a run.
That's two errors for them on the night so far.
Mid 3rd, Red Sox 2-1: With a single in that inning, Mike Aviles extended his hitting strak to nine games.
But Danks did a solid job of getting out of trouble after allowing Aviles and Dustin Pedroia to get on base. He swiftly retired Adrian Gonzalez on a fly out and struck out Kevin Youkilis.
End 2nd, Red Sox 2-1: Typically known for his defensive prowess behind the plate, Kelly Shoppach made some iffy throws on the base stealing attempts there.
One throw was too high. The other attempt was too low. Fortunately for Bard, no one wound up scoring in that inning despite Brent Morel's swipe.
Mid 2nd, Red Sox 2-1: David Ortiz blasted that pitch to right field for a two-run shot off John Danks.
Entering the game, his .338 average against lefties since the start of the 2011 season was the highest in the majors.
He's also reached safely in 18 of 19 games this season.
End 1st, White Sox 1-0: For the first time in this road trip, the Red Sox are trailing.
A.J. Pierzynski belted an RBI double — the second double that Daniel Bard allowed in the inning — to extend his hot start to the season.
Considering the cold weather, it's quite possible that Bard is still adjusting to starting under those circumstances.
Mid 1st, 0-0: Unlike Thursday's first inning with Philip Humber, John Danks gets a 1-2-3 inning.
Seems like a rarity these days after the way the Red Sox' offense has exploded in the first inning over the past week. But obviously, the White Sox will take any breaks they can get at this point.

8 a.m. ET — Many didn't expect Daniel Bard to make this start for the Red Sox (8-10) against the White Sox (10-9). After Bard made a relief appearance against the Twins and earned a victory, there was an assumption that he would be tapped with relief duty moving forward.
That isn't the case at the moment. With a 1-2 record and 4.83 ERA, Bard is still seeking his first win as a starting pitcher and will go up against John Danks, who was the subject of trade rumors with Boston during the offseason. In his last outing, Danks struck out six and walked four and is 2-2 with a 5.11 ERA.
