Whether it's sending a message, trying to swing momentum in a team's favor or sticking up for a teammate, a fight can completely change the complexion of a game. That's why there's still a spot in the NHL for enforcers.
But it isn't just "enforcers" who answer the bell, as some of the best fights often feature unusual suspects. It's that randomness and unpredictability that make hockey fights so intriguing.
This NHL season featured plenty of memorable bouts, and the Bruins were combatants in many of them. Whether it was a frequent rumbler like Shawn Thornton and Adam McQuaid or someone a bit more unexpected, the B's certainly had some entertaining scraps this year.
