On Monday night, Capitals defenseman Karl Alzner did a foolish thing — he attempted to embarrass the league's most-feared player, Milan Lucic. Lucic, who has been relatively quiet in series before the chippy battle in Game 3, turned things up a notch when things got aggressive.
While Alzner tried to back out and tell the media that he wasn't calling Lucic a "cry-baby," he still knows that there could be trouble coming his way in Game 4.
"He’s got to be top 10 toughest guys, pound for pound, in the league. Everybody knows that," Alzner said between Games 3 and 4. "He would not be a guy that I would fight."
Unfortunately for Alzner, it's not really up to him anymore. It's up to Lucic and the guys in suits on the Boston bench. Do you think it would be a good decision if Claude Julien and his staff unleashed Looch on Thursday night and allowed the scrapper to teach Alzner a lesson? It would likely juice up the B's but it also may lead to extra minutes in the box or locker room for your top-line winger.
Should Lucic take care of Alzner on Thursday night or let the loud mouth slide?
