Charlie Chaplin wowed audiences in the early part of the 20th century, but without a lucky break he caught right around the time Fenway Park was opening, American audiences may not have fallen in love with the silent movie star.
Chaplin made his debut at a Seattle theater in April 1912, starring as a drunk in the vaudeville sketch "A Night in an English Music Hall." Chaplin and his comedy troupe earned rave reviews for the performance, eventually settng the stage for his motion picture career to take off two years later.
