There will be a familiar face donning the stripes for Game 7 between the Bruins and Washington Capitals on Wednesday night.

The league has assigned Stephen Walkom — along with Eric Furlatt — as the on-ice referees for the deciding game of the teams' Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Bruins fans may recall that Walkom was one of the referees for both Game 7 of last year's Eastern Conference final as well as Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. The duo of Walkom and Dan O'Halloran let the teams play in both of those games, especially in the conference final between the Bruins and Lightning. In fact, they assessed no penalties over the course of the entire game.

In Game 7 of the Cup Final, Walkom and O'Halloran called just three penalties, all minors. Zdeno Chara received an interference penalty and Milan Lucic a hooking call for Boston (both in the second period), while Jannik Hansen was given an interference minor in the third period.
