Tough Start for Chicago Cubs Could be Tough Going for Team Trying to Break Century-Long World Series Curse

To say Chicago Cubs fans have been waiting a long time for a World Series title is an understatement. As a matter of fact, it may be a contender for the biggest understatement of all time.

Coming into the 2012 season, the Cubs had not won a World Series in 103 years. With the addition of former Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein, Cubs fans were excited that their dreams may finally come true and the gloom of 1908 would stop hanging around their ballclub.

Unfortunately, it may take a while before Epstein can fix the Cubbies. The North Siders are in last place in the National League Central with a 7-13 record and are half a game from having the worst record in the National League.

If the Cubs cannot turn it around, the World Series drought will soon go up to 104 seasons. Perhaps Cubs fans would have better luck during the next Mega Millions extravaganza.
