Adrian Gonzalez needed to take on more of a leadership role in his second season in Boston, and he hasn't disappointed.
The All-Star first baseman has been impressing teammates lately with his ability to lead both vocally and by example.
Gonzalez has been willing to shift to right field with Boston's outfielders banged up, which is a major change of pace from the position he's so accustomed to. Manager Bobby Valentine said that Gonzalez approached him about making the move, as he knew it was in the best interest of the banged-up team.
