Billy Hogan has joined Liverpool FC as its chief commercial officer. He is tasked with keeping the Reds among the Premier League’s elite clubs off the field.

He comes to Merseyside from Fenway Sports Management (FSM) — the global sponsorship sales arm of Fenway Sports Group — where he served as its managing director. He has worked closely with LFC over the last 18 months on a number of projects, including securing the Warrior Sports partnership with LFC and the club’s upcoming tour of North America.

In his new role, Hogan will be be responsible for helping the club increase its revenue and finding new business opportunities around the world. LFC managing director Ian Ayre thinks Hogan’s addition will help lead LFC into a bright future.

“The role of chief commercial officer is a key role for the club as we continue to grow our commercial activity on a global basis, and we were keen to appoint the right candidate who will be able to take the Club to the next level of its development,” Ayre said.

Among the business activities that Hogan will oversee are sponsorships, ticketing and hospitality, retail and merchandise, club memberships, club tours and friendlies, as well as Liverpool FC’s Soccer Schools. He is more than excited to begin this new phase of his career.

“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Ian and Liverpool’s talented executive team for more than a year, and it’s truly an honor for me to now lead the business development efforts for the most successful club in English football history,” Hogan said.

“I’ve witnessed firsthand the passion and loyalty that fans have for this club and I look forward to working with the staff, partners and future sponsors to grow and develop Liverpool’s brand and commercial presence globally to help ensure the long-term growth of this storied club.”
