A new team enters the Garden every year to work toward greatness, but there's something about the Celtics jerseys the players wear and the championship banners they play under that unites every team.

The Celtics looked to tap the power of great games past on Saturday night against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Posted outside the media workroom inside the TD Garden was the box score from one of the greatest moments in Celtics history, the famed "Steal by Bird" game that happened 25 years ago Saturday.

The Pistons had the Celtics on the ropes on May 26, 1987, in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. With the series tied 2-2, Dennis Rodman had just blocked Larry Bird's shot attempt, leaving Boston down 107-106 with just five seconds left. Detroit was inbounding the ball, with full control of the situation — and possibly the series — just moments away.

But then it happened. Bird atoned for the previous shot with a defensive play that marked him and the Celtics as a cut above.

Check out a video of the famous moment below, and click here to see the box score the Celtics put up Saturday night.
