Daniel Bard and Justin Masterson were Sunday's starting pitchers, which is interesting given each pitcher's career path.
Bard and Masterson were both drafted by the Red Sox in 2006. Bard was drafted in the first round, while Masterson was picked in the second round.
Masterson has since become a reliable starter in Cleveland, but he pitched mostly out of the bullpen early in his career while in Boston. Bard is attempting to make the same jump from a relief role to starting this season, and you can bet the Sox hope the results are similar to the ones Masterson has enjoyed.
