Editor's note: The temperature gauge is a Bill James-created statistic that measures how hot or cold hitters are. We will spotlight Red Sox and opposing team temperatures on game days.

Daniel Nava entered Monday night's game with the Mariners riding a hot streak since being recalled from Pawtucket. He enters Tuesday's game even hotter.

Nava added another hit — a home run — and a pair of walks on Monday night, helping the Sox to their fifth straight win. He's now hitting .583 (7-for-12) since being called up from Triple-A last week. Five of those hits have gone for extra bases, and Nava has driven in six runs in just five games. Add in six walks, and you'll see where Nava's 1.917 OPS comes from.

Simply put, Nava is on fire.
