Doc Rivers Says Celtics Considering Sitting Ray Allen for a GameIt has become almost painful to watch Ray Allen play basketball.

The Celtics guard continues to battle through bone spurs in his ankles, an injury that has severely limited his production. Allen was coming off the bench for the C's, but when Avery Bradley's season ended with a shoulder injury, Allen was called on to see increased minutes.

It hasn't gone very well for Allen and the C's, and it has reached a point where Doc Rivers and the Celtics are thinking about sitting Allen down for a game. Rivers told ESPN.com that they are looking at all of the possible options, and they are open to having Allen sit.

"It's a tough call with him," Rivers told ESPN.com. "We're trying to figure out a different minute rotation for him, maybe that will help him. We're even considering sitting him for a game, getting him a longer rest and then playing him, and then sitting him for a game. We don't know what the right thing is."

Rivers also admitted that a lack of depth right now affects the decision-making processs. However, there is no denying that Allen is a shell of himself right now. Allen scored six points on 1-for-7 shooting in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Heat.
