Jonathan Quick Won’t Be Fazed by Stanley Cup Pressure Despite Martin Brodeur’s Experience (Podcast)

Jonathan Quick Won't Be Fazed by Stanley Cup Pressure Despite Martin Brodeur's Experience (Podcast)Perhaps the most intriguing Stanley Cup Final storyline is the goaltending.

While Martin Brodeur is a grizzled veteran getting set for his 200th career playoff game on Wednesday, Jonathan Quick will have just 27 postseason contests under his belt. Clearly, Brodeur — who also has nine All-Star Game selections and three Stanley Cups to his credit — has the superior resume and the experience advantage.

But don't expect Quick to be intimidated, as the Kings netminder has confidence, poise and what NHL insider Douglas Flynn describes as a "Tim Thomas-type mentality." That should bode well for the young goalie as he gets set to play in the most pressure-packed situation of his career.

Flynn discussed the upcoming Stanley Cup Finals showdown with's Ricky Doyle recently, and he thinks Quick's play could be a decisive factor in the series. Flynn also gave his keys to the series, and shed some light on who else needs to step up.

But the hockey talk didn't stop there, as Flynn and Doyle also discussed Ron Francis' conference championship trophy comments, Patrick Kane's party antics, a potential suitor for the Canadiens' head coaching job and much more.
