Mario Balotelli Tells His Critics to 'Shut Up' Since Manchester City Won Premier League Title (Video)The blue half of Manchester, England, will be partying for days. But before the celebrations really begin, Mario Balotelli has something to say to his critics: “Shut up.”

The Manchester City striker enjoyed and endured a rollercoaster of a season. His antics — both on-field and off — since arriving in England have given his coaches, teammates and fans both great joy and pain.

His firework mishaps, theme music, T-shirt messages and parade of rumored girlfriends have given the media decades’ worth of material to play with.

His blunders — the car crashes, the late-night visits to the strip club, the red cards and on-field arguments with teammates — threatened to bring his adventure in English soccer to a premature end.

History will look back on the 14 league goals Balotelli scored this season as integral to City’s title charge. The Italian international was there when his team needed him most. He set the stage for Sergio Aguero‘s last-minute heroics in Sunday’s epic win over Queens Park Rangers.

After the trophy presentation, Balotelli caught up with City’s in-house television station and had some words of wisdom to share with fans. The mercurial striker said he’d rather win the title this way than, perhaps, an easier way. He usually doesn’t celebrate goals (unless he’s wearing a T-shirt with a message), but he went crazy after Aguero’s.

Finally, he had his message for his critics.

“A lot of people talked bad about me this year, and now they will have to shut up and watch me [at the European Championships],” Balotelli said.
