Shelby Fetsch probably knew Friday night was going to be memorable. But it turned out to be so for an unexpected reason.

Fetsch was invited to throw out the first pitch at Friday's Cardinals-Phillies game at Busch Stadium. The invitation was part of FOX Sports Midwest's "This One's For You" broadcast, which honors troops and telecasts the game over the Armed Forces Network. She was to throw out the first pitch while representing her longtime boyfriend, Army SPC William Johanson-Kubin, who had been serving in Afghanistan.

When Fetsch took the field, however, she received the surprise of a lifetime.

Johanson-Kubin emerged from behind home plate, much to Fetsch's delight. But the unexpected visit wasn't the only thing the soldier had in store, as he then pulled out a ring and proposed.

She said, "Yes," and waterworks ensued.
