Busch Stadium Streaker Lost Bet, Security Says He 'Appeared to Be Drinking' (Video)When a streaker runs onto a field during a Major League Baseball game, TV networks are strongly encouraged not to show the streaker. That’s in part to keep the attention off of him or her and thus discourage others from doing the same.

On Thursday night in St. Louis, that sort of censorship helped in a much bigger way — it kept baseball fans from having to see a naked man run through the outfield.

Collin J. Grundstrom interrupted the Cardinals-Phillies game when he stripped down and took off through the outfield before eventually being taken down by security.

In a shocking twist to the story, Cardinals’ head of security Joe Walsh told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Grundstrom “appeared to be drinking.”

Grundstrom also reportedly told police he went streaking because he had lost a bet.

Luckily, security retrieved his shorts after he had been tackled, allowing Grundstrom to put those on before being escorted off the field.

“He was naked. He’s not carrying much,” Cardinals third baseman David Freese told the Post-Dispatch. “That relaxes that aspect of the drama. I guess naked’s better. I don’t know. Less to worry about.”

See video of the incident below. Grundstrom is naked in the video, but luckily for everyone, the video is shot from too far away to really know for sure. But you have been warned.
