Newcastle's Papiss Cisse Buries Chelsea With Sensational Swerving Goal (Video)Pappis Demba Cisse could very well be the best new signing of the Premier League season.

The red-hot striker devestated Chelsea on Wednesday, scoring two goals of the highest caliber.

His second was a dipping, swerving effort that left fans breathless.

With Newcastle leading Chelsea 1-0 late in the second half, the fourth official indicated that there would be 10 minutes of extra time. Newcastle midfielder Cheik Tiote was treated on the field for several minutes after taking an elbow from opponent John Obi Mikel earlier in the half.

Chelsea was seriously threatening the Newcastle goal when the £9 million ($14.4 million) January signing from SC Freiburg took charge. Newcastle good-luck charm Shola Ameobi chested a throw-in towards Cisse. He ran forward and hit a shot that defied physics but celebrated imagination.

There was nothing Peter Cech could do to stop the effort.

It was Cisse’s second of the game and 13th in 12 games since moving to English soccer. Newcastle beat Chelsea 2-0 to move up to fifth in the league, and remain in striking distance of a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
