Covering small-town sports can be frustrating for a sports reporter. What can be even more frustrating, however, is trying to write a game recap without any stats.

One sports reporter found a way to spice up a high school softball season review by calling out the team’s coach, who didn’t give the reporter any pitching stats at the end of the year. Jeannine LeJeune, editor of the Crowley Post Signal, caught this humorous article and tweeted it on May 17.

A writer for the Ranye Independent, a Louisiana newspaper, let his or her frustration out and slipped some curse words past the editor’s eyes.

Hailey Habetz had a great year on the mound, but unfortunately no stats were available due to the coach’s bull**** and laziness,” the article read.

Unfortunately, the article did not have a byline, so credit cannot be given for what LeJeune called, “The world’s greatest piece of print journalism ever.”
