Ray Allen quickly put to rest any doubts about his ability to be effective. Despite missing over three weeks with a right ankle injury, Allen entered at the 4:40 mark in the first quarter against Atlanta and quickly got to work, making two jump shots in the opening period.

Prior to the game, Doc Rivers noted that Friday night's game would Allen's first time playing full court basketball in several weeks. If that is true, it sure didn't look like it in the first half of Friday's game.

Allen picked up right where he left off and shot 4 of 6, scoring eight points in just over 15 minutes of playing time in the first half. The rest of the Celtics shot just 9 of 27 from the field.

The Celtics will continue to lean on Allen for offense and led the Altanta Hawks 40-38 after the first two quarters.
