It appears that the rich are about to get richer.
Roy Oswalt has agreed to a contract with the Texas Rangers, according to The Dallas Morning News, citing a source close to the negotiations.
Oswalt had been courted by several teams since the beginning of the year, including the Red Sox, but seems like he settled on the Rangers after a spot in their rotation opened up with Neftali Feliz's injury.
The contract is reportedly worth between $5 million and $6 million, pro-rated over the amount of time Oswalt spends with the Rangers, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. The right-hander is expected to make a couple of minor league starts before joining the major league club
Oswalt, 34, went 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA for the Phillies in 2011, but didn't sign with anyone after becoming a free agent at the end of the season.
