Referring to recent games in 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (loss to Venezuela, tie at home to Bolivia), ‘Kun’ Aguero said, “we must be realistic, the national team is not playing well. And we have to pull this off.
“The Argentina team has to win anywhere,” added Aguero.
Argentina now has seven points in the qualifiers — like Uruguay (with a game in hand) and Venezuela. It will host Ecuador on Saturday June 2, at the Monumental stadium. It will have little time to rest before traveling to New Jersey to face Brazil in a friendly on June 9.
“Hopefully, everything we do in our club we can repeat in the national team,” Aguero said. “Luckily with the players, in the two weeks we train, we will quickly understand because we know.”
“Play one minute or 90, I am very happy just being in the national team. What is important is that the team wins,” he added.
