Soccer Player's Daughter Comforts Crying Dad, Cuteness Warms Hearts Worldwide (Video)Relegation is just about the worst thing that can happen to a soccer club or its players. They lose money, fans and prestige by dropping down a division.

But we get the feeling that De Graafschap captain Rogier Meijer will get through it just fine because his young daughter, Saar, will be there to see him through the dark periods.

De Graafschap’s relegation was confirmed on Sunday with a 1-1 draw with FC Den Bosch in the final game of the Dutch Eredivisie (first division) campaign. As is common practice, Meijer wept on the field after the final whistle.

That is when Saar intervened. Dressed in her father’s jersey, Saar walked up to her 30-year-old father and consoled him with a few words and a pat on the shoulder. He nodded like he understood what she was trying to tell him, before laying back on the turf.

This touching moment has warmed hearts all around the world. We hear so many about fans behaving badly, but this one helps keep the game in perspective.
