It seems like hair styles are the newest way of supporting one's favorite team.

Top high school recruit Nerlens Noel had the University of Kentucky Wildcats logo shaved into the back of his head when he announced his intent to play his college ball there. Even more recently, Woodlake Hills Middle School student Patrick Gonzalez shaved an image of San Antonio Spurs center Matt Bonner into his head but his school doesn’t plan on letting it last long.

Gonzalez chose this style to support his favorite team during their quest for an NBA title. According to school officials, the act is a distraction to other students and the teachers. Gonzalez has been told to shave it off or he will face a school suspension, according to Fox 29 in San Antonio.

The boy’s mother Rose Gonzalez told sources in San Antonio and neighboring cities that she was mad because she believed that the school had granted her son permission to sport his new dew. The Gonzalez’s say permission was given, but the Judson I.S.D. denies granting them approval for it. Since miscommunications like this do arise on occasion, the boy’s mother believes that the school should have provided a written letter of approval.

Gonzalez says he will shave it off, but will continue to support his hometown team. Check out the photo below, compliments of Fox 29.
