Brett Favre and Tony Romo now share a bond that goes beyond being consistent subjects of scrutiny.
Favre sat down with Deion Sanders on the NFL Network to discuss a number of topics, including some of the league’s current quarterbacks. During his discussion, Favre praised Romo, and said that he sees a lot of himself in the Cowboys quarterback.
“Romo is probably more like me than any of those guys,” he said. “I don’t know if that’s good, because I think way too much is cast upon him. Good or bad.”
Romo, like Favre, has taken some heat from fans over the years. Much of the criticism surrounding the Dallas signal caller stems from his inability to win in big situations. Favre, however annoying he is to some fans, at least won a Super Bowl ring back in the day.
Still, Favre thinks Romo is actually underrated.
“It’s Dallas. And much is expected. But he’s carried those guys, man,” Favre said. “I mean, I’m watching last year, and I like Tony. And I like the way he plays. I think at times he’s underrated.”
This is probably maddening for Cowboys fans who anxiously wait for Romo to guide Dallas back to Super Bowl glory.
