On July 8, MLS Futbolito returns to the region. Soccer players in and around New England will have the chance to show their stuff on field at Gillette Stadium.
Futbolito, the official four-on-four tournament of Major League Soccer, is open to players of all ages and abilities. Teams will be divided by age group and skill level, with the winners of each division receiving prizes.
“Futbolito is an authentic, multicultural grassroots tournament that showcases talented local players in the region,” Revolution vice president of business development Craig Tornberg said. “This is small-sided soccer at its best, with a very authentic feel and atmosphere.”
“MLS Futbolito has been a resounding success in New England, and we’re excited to once again have a partner like MetroPCS supporting the event,” Tornberg said. “Every year, interest in the tournament grows and the competition level increases in every division.”
Each team can have up to seven players — four on the field and three available as substitutes. As in major tournaments around the world, there will be a group stage followed by single-elimination knockout rounds. The final will be played at halftime of the New England Revolution’s game against the New York Red Bulls.

The The entrance fee is $150 per team for those competing in the Adult Premier Division, and $120 per team for all other participants. The entry fee includes a ticket to that night’s MLS contest.
