The Bruins announced Friday that they have signed the free-agent center to a three-year deal that will keep him in Boston through the 2014-15 season. The team also announced that the deal will be worth $1.3 million annually.
Paille, who has played almost 400 games in his NHL career, just wrapped up his third season in Boston before coming an unrestricted free agent this summer. He has fit in quite nicely on the Bruins' fourth line alongside Shawn Thornton and Gregory Campbell, and he's one of the B's best penalty killers.
Paille had 9-6-15 totals in 69 games this past season, averaging 11:30 of ice time per game in the regular season. He played in all 25 playoff games on the Bruins' run to the 2011 Stanley Cup, scoring three goals and adding three assists that spring.
The Bruins also announced that they have signed Chris Bourque, son of Bruins legend Ray Bourque, to a two-year deal. The B's acquired the forward from Washington on May 26 in exchange for forward Zach Hamill.
