Celtics to Play Two Preseason Games in Europe This FallThere is nothing like a trip across the pond for the Celtics to bond.

The Celtics' 17th championship season began with a game against the Toronto Raptors in Rome in October 2007 as part of the NBA's preseason tour of Europe. Nine months later, a close-knit group of players captured the title in six games over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Celtics are headed back across the Atlantic Ocean this year, with two games scheduled in Europe before the ball goes up for games that count.

The Celtics play five-time Turkish champion Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul on Oct. 5 in the Ulker Sports Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. They will also take on 25-time Italian champ EA7 Emporio Armani on Oct. 7 at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy.

The Dallas Mavericks round out the three-game slate with Dirk Nowitzki playing against his countrymen in Berlin, Germany, on Oct. 6, when the Mavs play eight-time German champ Alba Berlin.
