Daisuke Matsuzaka has bookended his time away from the Red Sox pretty well.

He returns to the starting rotation on Saturday — just one day shy of the anniversary of when he had Tommy John surgery.

Matsuzaka has been working his way back through the minors, where he pitched 28 1/3 innings with a 3.49 ERA, 20 strikeouts and seven walks over six starts.

Jenny Dell gives an update on Matsuzaka's return, including what manager Bobby Valentine had to say. See it all on Red Sox First Pitch.
