Faulk told the Boston Herald that the Patriots haven't yet reached out about a potential return, but the 36-year-old running back is still training in the hopes of returning.
"I hope so. I'm still praying, hoping," Faulk told the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe. "If it doesn't happen, hey, I had a long run. God has blessed me with a long career as a running back, as a football player in general. But if it doesn't happen, hey, I'm moving on."
Faulk reportedly said his knee is back to full health, and that he misses being around the organization that he's been with since 1999. In fact, his loyalty to the Pats runs so deep that the running back will only play for New England next season, regardless of whether another team calls with an offer.
"If I had my way, I'd want them to call right now," Faulk said. "Obviously, once the season starts, [the window of opportunity] is going to diminish even more. It is going to gradually happen. I'm just waiting, trying to be patient. That's about it."
Faulk said he can't take any decisions personally, and that he understands football is a business. It hasn't stopped him from training and waiting, though, because as Faulk put it, "You never know what's going to happen."
