Kevin Youkilis' Transcendent Work Ethic Will Be Lasting Memory of His Time in Boston (Podcast)When Kevin Youkilis first came on the scene in Boston, he didn’t look like a whole heck of a lot.

What Red Sox fans quickly learned, however, was that there was more to this third baseman than met the eye — a fitting distinction for someone who would be come to known for his eye at the plate.

Youkilis somehow found a way to make it work on the diamond, and he somehow found a way into the heart of Red Sox Nation.

While Youkilis may no longer be with the Red Sox, and Will Middlebrooks is poised to take over in his place, Youk will always be loved by Red Sox fans thanks to his tireless work ethic and gritty play on the field.

NESN’s Don Orsillo stopped by the NESN.com podcast to chat with NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette about his memories watching Youk evolve over the years into the player he is today, what expectations he has for Middlebrooks, which Red Sox players might be headed to the All-Star game in a few weeks and more.

Of course, he also discussed his booth hijinks with broadcast partner Jerry Remy and the chances that the next “Ask Jerry” segment gets either of them into trouble.
