One of the perks of winning the NHL playoffs’ final game is the Stanley Cup, which each member of the winning team gets to cart around for a day or two and use however they’d like.
Lord Stanley’s chalice has been at the middle of many high-octane celebrations, including its perennial use as an alcohol reservoir.
But when Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown got the first pass at the Cup after the Kings beat the Devils for the NHL title on Monday, he found new use for the hardware.
Brown put the Stanley Cup in his backyard and had it filled with chocolate milk, where his Spiderman pajama-clad sons took turns blowing bubbles in and drinking from the frothy beverage. The Los Angeles Times has the celebration on video.
Considering where the Cup has gone before, let’s hope Brown and his wife cleaned out the trophy — so memories were the only thing being shared.
