We learned a few things when Mickael Pietrus made himself heard Saturday.
Pietrus crashed Brandon Bass' interview with Comcast SportsNet New England's Mike Gorman and Brian Scalabrine following the Celtics' loss to the Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
First, Pietrus and the rest of the Celtics really appreciated the support they received from the Boston faithful during the playoffs. Pietrus may have been thinking specifically about the chants of "Let's go Celtics" that rang out in TD Garden in the waning moments of a 98-79 loss in Game 6 on Thursday night.
Second, Pietrus wants to be back with the Celtics next season. The 30-year-old Frenchman just finished a one-year, $1.3 million deal, but his comments made clear that he'd like the chance to chase his first NBA championship with the Celtics in 2012-13.
Third, Pietrus has no idea who Scalabrine is. Pietrus has been in the league with Scalabrine for nine years now, and, although the two have never been teammates, Scalabrine did play significant minutes off the bench for the Celtics when they met Pietrus' Magic in the Eastern Conference semifinals in 2009.
