Novak Djokovic Playing Like World's No. 1 Player, Making Odds Enticing for Underdog BettorsOn July 4, Novak Djokovic will celebrate the one-year anniversary of becoming the World No. 1 tennis player.

Djokovic entered The Championships in 2011 as the No. 2 and left as the No. 1, as well as the winner of the tournament. With the win he became the first player to overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal as the world?s top tennis player since 2004 and the first other than those two to win Wimbledon since 2002.

Djokovic is proving himself to be the best, having won four of the last six tennis majors, only failing twice to capture that elusive French Open, which he needs to complete the career Grand Slam. He?s in fine form at Wimbledon this year, having easily dispatched Juan Carlos Ferrero and Ryan Harrison in straight sets in his first two matches.

The center court superstar is making it look easy, despite the hours of play. Djokovic and Harrison played until almost 10 p.m. local time. Djokovic holds the record for the latest finish to a match since the tournament began in 1877, when he and Olivier Rochus played until 10:59 p.m. in the first round in 2010.

If the women?s bracket is any indication, then this year, anything can happen. On Wednesday alone, four of the top-13 seeded female players were defeated, including Caroline Wozniacki, Li Na and Sam Stosur.

Still, upsets are not part of Djokovic?s game. He?s 125-25 lifetime at major championships, including 30-1 in the last two years. Djokovic has made it to at least the quarterfinals at four of the last five championships, and only twice hasn?t made it to the quarterfinals of a major since the French Open in 2007, so betting on him to beat No. 28 Radek Stepanek and then either No. 15 Juan Monaco or Viktor Troicki in the next two matches is almost a sure thing.

However, that may make for some enticing tennis betting odds for those who like to play the underdogs. The competition for Djokovic and the other top-ranked players have consistently had odds in excess of plus-2,000 so far which, obviously, has a huge payout even on small bets.

You can also check out the Bovada Sportsbook at the end of play each day to see the latest tennis futures. Place your bets early while the top players? odds of winning are still worth betting on.

Of course, you may be content to just enjoy your strawberries and cream.
