Things looked bleak for the Red Sox on May 10 after Josh Beckett was knocked around Fenway Park. Not only was the disastrous start part of the whole golf outing fisasco, it also dropped Boston to a season-high seven games under .500.
From there, though, the Sox got red-hot, going 14-5 to end the month, capping off a 15-14 record for the month that had them two games over .500 heading into June.
Since the calendar flipped, however, the Sox have fallen back to earth, and are struggling once again. The Sox are just 2-3 in June, and they're at risk of being swept by the Orioles again. If that happens, the Red Sox will fall below .500 for the first time since May 27.
