Should the Red Sox Pursue More Starting Pitching Before the Trade Deadline?

The Red Sox' fortunes have seemingly taken a turn for the much better lately, as Boston has gone 8-2 over its past 10 games and finds itself now sitting just 1 1/2 games out of a wild card spot.

But this recent success is masking an issue that has hampered the team all season long: starting pitching.

Currently sporting an ERA of 4.83 — which ranks 27th in the majors ahead of only the Royals, Twins and Rockies — the starting rotation has been plagued by injury and inconsistency all season long.

Jon Lester was counted on to be the ace of the staff, but he has a losing record. Josh Beckett gave up seven runs in 2 1/3 innings in one start, threw seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts the next, and hasn't struck out more than five batters in a start since.

And that's not even mentioning the Daniel Bard experiment, or the latter stages of Daisuke Matsuzaka's recovery from Tommy John surgery.

There have been a few bright spots, however. After a horrific beginning to the season, Clay Buchholz has finally found his groove to the tune of a 2.43 ERA and 4-0 record in his last five starts. Felix Doubront has been a pleasant surprise at the back end of the rotation, striking out more than a batter per inning and winning eight games so far.

Beckett and Buchholz are now both on the disabled list.

But, with the trade deadline a little more than a month away, do you think the Red Sox should go after another starting pitcher to help shore up the rotation?
