‘Sons of Sam Horn’ Red Sox Blog Raising Money for AIDS Research With ‘Anti-Viral Video’

The Sons of Sam Horn fan blog is one of the most well-known collections of fan voices surrounding the team. Now, they’re aiming to make their voices heard for a good cause.

The blog has launched an “anti-viral video” campaign in an effor to fight HIV and AIDS in Tanzania. Along with Support for International Change (SIC) — which is described as “the Dustin Pedroia of non-governmental organizations” in a press release — the blog will raise $40,000 from Red Sox Nation to purchase a vehicle to help treat victims of the diseases.

The top two donors of the campaign will get to help design the vehicle, too, choosing which scene from Red Sox history adorns the side of a new Toyota Landcruiser.
