Washington State Newspaper Refers to Thunder as ‘Sonics’ Says OKC Steals Team, Steals Game (Photo)

Apparently they haven't gotten over losing the Sonics out in Washington.

The Oklahoma City Thunder advanced to the NBA Finals on Wednesday night after defeating the San Antonio Spurs. It marks the franchise's first trip to the finals since 1996 when the Thunder was still known as the Seattle SuperSonics.

A decade later, the Sonics were sold to an Oklahoma City investment group and they moved to OKC where they became the Thunder.

That was in 2006, with the move becoming official in 2008, but time has not yet healed those wounds for Washington state.

That much was apparent on Thursday morning when the Tri-City Herald out of Kennewick hit newsstands. Check out the front page of the sports section in the photo below.
