Chipper Jones Joins Twitter, Confuses Followers Using Words Like 'Yicketty,''Mammo'The Braves’ Chipper Jones only has a few months left in his baseball career, but he’s already begun to find something to keep him occupied in retirement.

On Tuesday, Jones joined Twitter, and though he only tweeted four times in his first two days, he already has over 50,000 followers. One tweet, in particular though, likely drew confusion from Jones’ followers.

After the Braves defeated the Marlins 7-1 on Wednesday — with Jones getting the day off — the third baseman tweeted the following:

Understandably, Jones’ followers were perplexed by the tweet’s meaning, which led Jones to post an explanation on Thursday.

So, using Jones’ translation tips, the first two sentences of his original tweet should read: “Michael Bourn and Jason Heyward hit home runs! Juan Francisco hit a big bomb!”

Twitter has a 140-character limit, so it’s understandable that Jones might want to save some space using abbreviations. But next time he tweets, he might want to use terms that the rest of his followers can understand.
