It's fortunate that their offensive explosion was able to take place, though, as the game went off without a hitch despite a bomb threat against Comerica Park in Detroit.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the bomb threat was called in to the stadium at 8 p.m. during the middle of the game with almost 34,000 fans looking on. An anonymous 911 call led authorities to search the stadium.
Fans and the media were not notified of the threat.
"There was no device found and no evacuation was done," stated Sgt. Eren Stephens after a search of the stadium yielded nothing suspicious.
This has become a bit of a trend in Detroit, as the Free Press points out that two other bomb threats have been called in over the last week.
Luckily for all involved, nothing came of the threat which is more than likely just a hoax.
That was even better news for Trout and the Angels, as they shellacked the Tigers 13-0. The Halos offense blew up with five home runs, including one from Trout that was part of his four-hit night.
