He did it. David Ortiz hit career home run No. 400 on Wednesday, tying the game 1-1 against the Oakland A’s.

Ortiz turned on a fastball from starter A.J. Griffin in the fourth inning, sending it screaming into the right field seats. It was his 22nd home run of the season, and his first since June 27

That moves Ortiz into 49th place all-time ahead of Andres Galarraga and Al Kaline, who Ortiz had been tied with at 399. Duke Snider is next on the all-time list with 407 career homers.
