Finally, things fell into place for Clay Buchholz.

First, he pitched poorly but had all the run support he could ask for. Then, he pitched brilliantly but couldn’t buy a run to support his efforts. Finally, his offense matched his level of excellence and the Red Sox rolled to a 7-3 victory on Monday night.

Thanks to home runs by Dustin Pedroia and Will Middlebrooks, Buchholz picked up a win and, more importantly, so did the Sox. That’s why the infielders share our “Hometown Helpers” award to start a 10-game homestand.
