Dustin Pedroia’s Thumb Injury Something Red Sox Need to Get Straightened Out (Video)

Dustin Pedroia left Tuesday night's game in the fifth inning after re-injuring the thumb that's been problematic all season.

Pedroia was held out of the lineup Wednesday as a precaution, but The Boston Globe's Peter Abraham said that it's tough to tell whether or not the Red Sox second baseman will be back in the lineup Friday when Boston hosts the Yankees.

Abraham said Pedroia injured a different part of the thumb this time around, and that this is an issue the Red Sox really need to straighten out going forward.

Check out the video above to hear more about Pedroia and for an update on Will Middlebrooks' injury.
