Felix Doubront Battles Mechanics, Control and Foul Balls in Red Sox Win (Video)

It certainly wouldn't be going out on a limb to say that Felix Doubront did not have his best stuff on Sunday afternoon.

With five walks in just 4 1/3 innings, Doubront's pitch count escalated very quicky, adding to his difficulties. That being said, even without his best stuff (and with the help of a double play induced by Matt Albers) Doubront managed to hold the Mariners to a single run, enabling the Red Sox bullpen to keep the game close, and, eventually, the offense to break through.

To hear Doubront's catcher, Kelly Shoppach, talk about the lefty's evening, apparently Doubront was struggling with the consistency in his mechanics all night. Shoppach also took the opportunity in front of the camera to play standup comic, inserting a little deadpan in to the interview when asked about All Star David Ortiz.

Watch the video above to hear it all in Shoppach's own words.
