Hope Solo Comes Clean, Saves U.S. Women's Soccer Team's Olympic Hopes (Photos)Hope Solo is one of the most recognizable soccer players in the United States. If you don’t know Solo from her performances in goal for the U.S. women’s national team, then you might know her from that stint on Dancing with the Stars.

Despite achieving crossover success, Solo is working hard to continue her glittering soccer career. The 30-year-old has represented her country at the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Olympic Games for over a decade.

The 2012 Summer Olympic games will be held in London, England, and there was a fear that Solo would miss out. She received a public warning from the USADA after testing positive for a banned substance. The medication she took was not a performance-enhancing drug, and she is eligible to help the U.S. as it looks to win its third consecutive gold medal.

As the starting goalkeeper for Team U.S.A., Solo is the last line of defense on the field. But off the field, she is one of the faces of the national team and a role model for young girls who hope to walk in her footsteps.
