Jeremy Lin Tweets Thanks to New York Fans, Even Knicks OrganizationJeremy Lin's days in New York are over, but the newest Houston Rocket is well aware of where his amazing run to stardom began.

Lin, who sparked a fad dubbed "Linsanity" with an improbable 26-game run last season, tweeted his thanks to New York fans and even expressed his gratitude to the Knicks, who declined to match his offer sheet from the Rockets on Tuesday night.

"Much love and thankfulness to the Knicks and New York for your support this past year… easily the best year of my life #ForeverGrateful," Lin tweeted.

Lin was released by three NBA teams, including the Rockets, and was days from being released by the Knicks before then-Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni sent him into a game against the New Jersey Nets on Feb. 4. Lin scored 25 points in that game to start a late-season run that launched the Knicks back into playoff contention and saw the one-time undrafted free agent grace the covers of numerous national news and sports magazine.

The Knicks held matching rights to any contract offer Lin received as a restricted free agent, but the team let the 11:59 p.m. deadline pass Tuesday without matching the three-year, $25-million offer sheet he received from Houston.
